Laluan utama Kota Kinabalu – Sandakan terputus, ratusan kereta terkandas. Laluan utama Kota Kinabalu – Sandakan di Kilometer 109.378, di Jalan Riverside, di sini, terputus hubungan akibat runtuhan di jalan berkenaan, malam ini.
Kejadian kira-kira jam 10 malam itu menyebabkan ratusan kenderaan terkandas namun tiada kemalangan jiwa dilaporkan.
Jurutera Jabatan Kerja Raya (JKR) Ranau dalam kenyataan berkata, susulan kejadian itu, laluan berkenaan ditutup serta merta untuk semua kenderaan.

Katanya, kejadian itu disebabkan hujan lebat yang berterusan mengakibatkan kegagalan pembentung dan jalan putus yang membahayakan laluan.
“Pengguna jalan raya boleh melalui laluan alternatif melalui Jalan Sinarut Baru Togudon Baru (hanya untuk kenderaan kecil).
“Mohon patuhi arahan dan papan tanda keselamatan bagi mengelak sebarang kejadian yang tidak diingini berlaku,” katanya.
Tambahnya, segala kesulitan amat dikesali dan diharap bersabar untuk keselesaan bersama dimasa akan datang.
Dalam pada itu, beberapa video dan gambar mengenai kejadian jalan terputus dan tanah runtuh di Ranau turut tular di media sosial.
Sementara itu, Ketua Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat (BBP) Ranau, Ridwan Mohd Taib ketika dihubungi berkata, ketika ini pihaknya menerima banyak panggilan mengenai kejadian tanah runtuh dan kini pegawai dan anggota dalam tindakan.
